Letter from our District Superintendent
August 28, 2017
Dear Members and Friends of Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene,
Greetings! I trust that this letter finds you enjoying these last few days of summer and preparing for the fall season.
In an ongoing effort to communicate with you, I wanted to share several recent developments with you that will enable you to be more focused in your prayers for Stillmeadow in these days of transition.
Let me express my deep appreciation to you for your kind expressions Sunday (August 27) to Pastor Bud, Sally and their family for their twenty-seven years of ministry to Stillmeadow. Your thoughtful words, gifts and friendship will be treasured as they move ahead in their ministry.
As we continue the transition, I want to express my appreciation to the Church Board for their faithful service and discerning leadership. They are providing exemplary guidance as we look to the future. They are to be commended for calling the church to seasons of prayer as we await God’s direction.
I look forward to being with you and having the privilege of preaching each Sunday in September. I will be examining the narrative contained in Joshua chapter 3 and considering the phrase, “we have never been this way before.” I am excited to be with you and to get more deeply acquainted with you.
On Sunday, September 10th, I would like to invite you to an all church congregational meeting. The purpose of this meeting will be update you on the pastoral transition process, provide an update on the results of the congregational survey and share plans as we move into the fall of the year. The meeting will begin at 6:30PM and will last about 75 minutes.
God is at work and I want to encourage you to remain faithful in these days of transition. There are many reasons to celebrate the activity of God’s Spirit as we walk forward. Please continue to be in prayer for the church, for each other and for Stillmeadow’s ministry to the community.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. May the Lord continue to bless you! Please be assured of my continued prayers!
Blessings and Peace,
Dr. David W. Bowser
