Volunteer News

Dear Friends,

This is a follow up message for all of our incredible volunteers who serve in and through the family of Stillmeadow.  First, thanks to all who made it out to our Potlucks! Second, we missed those of you who weren't able to make it! Third, plan on attending our next Volunteer Potluck on November 3, 2019 at 4:30PM.

Reminder: Our Mission -- Continuing Jesus’ Mission:...Making Disciples of All Nations

Luke 10:1-2
After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. 2 He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Here we see that Jesus equipped his disciples to…

Have ownership of the mission.
Collaborate with others on the mission.
Widen the influence of the mission.

…let us develop joy-filled hearts, prayer-directed lives, thankful spirits. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

1. The Joy-Filled Leader always asks, “What is God doing?”
2. The Prayer-Directed Leader always asks: “How can I pray?”
3. The Thankful Leader always asks: “Who can I appreciate?”

Having these three attributes in the lives of our volunteers helps facilitate a culture of welcome!

Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. 1 Thessalonians 5:12

This mission of God is being fulfilled through your work, through your prayers, through your presence. Thank you for your hard work!

Welcome Year Challenge

As we continue this new season in the life of Stillmeadow, let’s continue the “Welcome Year!” As Jesus welcomes us into His life and allows us to welcome Him into our lives, let’s open our lives and hearts to others! Accept the challenge by putting the following practices into your life.

10:02 Prayers
Set an alarm to go off at 10:02—Follow Jesus’ command to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers.
Pray that God would unite, energize and mobilize Stillmeadow for His mission

Welcome Walk Wednesdays
Pray and fast on Wednesdays.
Pray through our neighborhoods (yours and Stillmeadow’s).

3 Minute Challenge
Welcome strangers in final 3 minutes before and first 3 minutes after service or small group.

Again...we hope that you can come to our next Volunteer Potluck on Sunday, November 11 at 4:30. These are opportunities for us to bring the entire volunteer force together to build unity between the ministries, to remember our common mission together and to strengthen our individual ministries.

 Grace and Peace,
