Welcome Wednesday Update
Happy Wednesday Friends!
As we enter the second week of August, may our hearts be tuned to God's heart. May we seek His will in all we do, allowing Him to focus our minds and hearts on His love and our strengths to show that love to all we meet.
Please keep our Children & Counselors in prayer that are attending Kids camp this week, 8/6 – 8/10.
LAST CHANCE TO BLESS A CHILD WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Speaking of showing love, let's bless the children of the Parkway Development where our bus ministry serves every Saturday. This is an excellent opportunity for families to work together! The collection ends this Sunday, August 12. See attached flier for more details.
WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW...IS UNITY UNDER CHRIST
We don't have to look far to see that there is a world of hurt around us. Backbiting, gossip, infidelity, hostility and bitterness seem to dominate; but in Christ we have been created to be His workmanship to do good works (Eph 2:10)! So, we're taking 7 weeks to look at Paul's letter to the Ephesians. Will you pray for unity within Stillmeadow? Will you commit to putting Christ's purpose before your own preferences and pleasures? Catch up on our sermons and use our reading plan available on our sermon blog: www.stillnaz.com/sermon-blog.
ALL CHURCH VOLUNTEER CELEBRATION POTLUCK: AUGUST 26
As a way to build unity, we are calling all those who volunteer in some way at Stillmeadow to gather on August 26 (from 4:30-6:30) for a Volunteer Celebration Potluck. Please RSVP to email@example.com and sign up for a food dish on www.PerfectPotluck.com/SURC1741.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE BAPTIZED? WE'RE BAPTIZING ON SEPT 9
Have you committed your life to Christ and want to show the world? Baptism is a powerful symbol of a powerful reality: Christians are people whose past sins have been washed away through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross (1 Peter 3:21); not only this, but baptism symbolizes that Christians get "dunked" to symbolize that they are burying their old selves in Christ and get "pulled out" of the water to symbolize that they are allowing Christ to raise His life through them (Colossians 2:12). So, we're having baptisms as part of our Welcome Bash on September 9. If you'd like to be baptized, sign up here: www.stillnaz.com/baptism.
THIS WEEK'S BLESSING...
May we “make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called to one hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all through all in all.” May we be people who pursue the peace of Christ with others, so that others would see God's dream being made real in and through us!
