Welcome Wednesday Update
Dear Family of Faith,
As we walk this Faith Series (LOOK UP!), let us be the kind of people who are, "looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:2)
PLEASE PRAY ON THE 7'S
Over the last year, our church board has been in the discernment process of what's next for our Chestnut Street Campus. Last night we received the report and recommendations from the City Campus Commission and are taking a month to pray for God's wisdom and direction over those findings. Please join us in praying at 7AM and 7PM. We believe God is up to some incredible things and want to follow Him in those.
BACKPACK BLESSING ON SUNDAY!
It's school time! Our young people have an incredible opportunity to be Christ's light in our community through their hours spent in school and we want to pray for them as they head into the hallways. So, we're going to conclude our worship service on Sunday with a "blessing of the backpacks". If your child is school age, they're invited to wear their backpack to church.
WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS! LET'S GATHER ON SUNDAY AT 4:30 FOR A POTLUCK
It takes all of us doing our part in our ministries to be the body of Christ, to carry out the mission of His family. So it's good to get all of us together to remember our shared vision and then break into ministry areas to review how we're living out that vision in our ministry areas. RSVP to Karon (email@example.com) and sign up for your potluck item (https://perfectpotluck.com/JTGV6693).
AT THE WELCOME BASH WE CELEBRATE BAPTISMS!
We have 11 people declaring their faith in Christ through baptism on August 25! This is so awesome, we're bringing both campuses together for worship on the Stillmeadow Lane front lawn at 9:30 and a celebration potluck meal at 11:30. Sign up for the potluck here: https://perfectpotluck.com/QJII1968
INTERESTED IN MATURING WITH OTHERS IN A HOME GROUP?
We profoundly believe that No One Matures Alone (NOMA), which is why we provide discipleship opportunities through small groups that meet Sunday mornings and through the week. We are adding some NOMA Home Groups this fall that will meet in homes with the hope of maturing in Christ together. If you are interested in joining one of these groups, find more info here: www.stillnaz.com/nomahomegroups.
INVEST IN THE WORK OF CHRIST IN CAMBODIA
We had the privilege of hearing from Rolf and Debbie Kleinfeld (my parents!) who have been serving as missionaries since 2003, most of those years in Cambodia. Support them in their mission by praying for the 60+ Nazarene congregations, for greater access to food and clean water and sustainable jobs, and for future leaders. You can also support them in their mission by giving financially. Make checks out to Stillmeadow and in the Memo Line write Kleinfelds. Or if you give online (www.stillnaz.com/give), type "Cambodia" in the "Other" box.
RECEIVE THE BLESSING FROM SUNDAY
May each and every one of you look up today to heaven. May each of you store your treasures in heaven where Christ is, where our Father is. May each of you continue to move forward in your faith no matter what’s going on around you, behind you, in front of you. May each of you keep focus on the author of your faith and extend and show that faith to all of those who are watching. In Jesus name, go in faith.
