Welcome Wednesday Update
Happy New Year!
YOU ARE LOVED!
Greetings in the transformative and revolutionary name of Jesus, the Nazarene! Isn’t it incredible that God loves us so much that He sent His Son to show us that love and make it possible to live out that love for others? You are loved!
BAPTISM SUNDAY: MARCH 17
Have you committed your life to Christ and want to show the world? Baptism is a powerful symbol of a powerful reality: Christians are people whose past sins have been washed away through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross (1 Peter 3:21); not only this, but baptism symbolizes that Christians get "dunked" to symbolize that they are burying their old selves in Christ and get "pulled out" of the water to symbolize that they are allowing Christ to raise His life through them (Colossians 2:12). So, we're having baptisms on March 17. If you'd like to be baptized, sign up here: www.stillnaz.com/baptism.
CHURCH BOARD ELECTIONS ON JANUARY 20 (SNOW DATE: JANUARY 27)
Our church is privileged to be led by a church board whose members are elected to three year terms. We will be electing 4 new members and two at large members on January 20.
If you are a member of Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, you are invited to vote for folks to serve on our church board. If we’re snowed out on the 20th, we’ll have our elections on the 27th.
2018 COMMISSION SUNDAY: JANUARY 27
On Sunday morning during our worship services, we will present the highlights of what God has done in the past year and look ahead to where He is leading us as a church. And then at 6PM, we will gather again to hear stories from various ministries and install our newly elected board members during our "2018 Commissioning Service."
ENGAGE WITH JESUS DAILY
Want to experience growth in your life? Start with Jesus. We’ve put together a reading plan that goes through the entire book of Luke over 7 weeks. Follow the plan here:
BLESSING FROM SUNDAY
May you have the courage to follow Jesus in just discipleship. May others experience His love, His fearless grace, His courage through your obedience. May you remember that all He did and all He is doing, is because of the Father’s Love. In His name, Amen.
