Welcome Wednesday Update

Dear Stillmeadow Family,

What we face today is small in the light of God’s eternal power and love. To pray is to trust our little things to the One who can do anything. So let’s press on in prayer over the Amazing Things Prayer List: www.stillnaz.com/prayerchallenge/prayerchallenge

CONGRATS TO DEB STALEY OUR OCTOBER PINEAPPLE AWARD WINNER!

Nathan Lahr (our high school intern) speaks for us all when he says: “Deb has an exemplary servants heart. Whether it’s with kids, teenagers or adults, she helps out everywhere she can. She has prepared countless tasty meals for youth events, (we can attest to the tastyness). She gives so much of themselves to others without asking anything in return. Her hugs, stories, wisdom, and laughs are all wonderful attributes. She is someone who we could easily tell if they were missing from the group. She means more than words can explain...”

 DO THE WELCOME YEAR CHALLENGE

There are three ways we are inviting you to become involved in the Welcome Year. We’d love to see as many Stillnaz peeps joining in the Welcome Movement. If you’re like most, you may find it helpful to choose a partner to do the following with.

  1. 10:02 Prayers. Set your alarm for 10:02 (AM or PM) and follow Jesus’s direction in Luke 10:02 to see that the harvest is plentiful and to pray for the Lord to send out workers.

  2. Welcome Walk Wednesdays. Take time on Wednesday’s to walk through your neighborhood and pray for your neighbors. We encourage you to fast on that day too! If you can’t give up food, consider social media, sugary foods, or something else.

  3. The 3 Minute Challenge. Take the last three minutes before worship (or small group or a business meeting or class) and the first three minutes after worship to reach out to somebody you are less familiar with and extend welcome to them.

PRAY FOR AND JOIN US IN THE TRUNK OR TREAT

We'd love for you to be a part of Trunk or Treat this year.  October 27 we'll be doing it on our Stillmeadow Lane campus (2-4PM) and on October 31 (6-8PM) we'll be doing it on our Chestnut Street Campus. This is an incredible way to work together as a family of God to welcome our neighbors and their families. You can sign up to help with the Stillmeadow Lane Campus here: www.stillnaz.com/trunkvolunteers2018/. If you'd like to help with our City Campus event, email pastorkent@stillnaz.com.

I’M MAKING GINGERSNAPS FOR YOU! COME TO THE VOLUNTEER POTLUCK ON NOV 11

From worship team members to nursery volunteers, from Bus Ministry Crew to cafe staff, we are calling all those who volunteer in some way at Stillmeadow to gather on November 11 (from 4:30-6:30) for a Volunteer Celebration Potluck. Please RSVP to karon.kagan@stillnaz.com and sign up for a food dish here: www.PerfectPotluck.com/MUYX3208

3 WAYS TO RESPOND TO THE HURRICANE DISASTERS

As people continuing Jesus’ mission, we are compelled to do something for those affected by these recent hurricanes. There are three ways you can respond. First, be in prayer for the victims and for the responders. Second, contribute to the crisis care kit collection. Check out the list and instructions at the bottom of the email. Third, go on our disaster relief trip with Samaritan’s Purse from Nov 11-16. You can join the team by contacting Randy Hull: 717-451-2502 or rhull52@gmail.com

THIS WEEK'S BLESSING

As you go this week, remember what God says to Job and Jesus that reality centers on His creative power and enduring love. May you focus your hearts and minds on God’s fatherly strength so that you can be grace-filled, faith-filled, love-filled no matter what you face this week.
