Call to Worship: Psalm 63:1-8

Reflection Questions

  1. Begin with two minutes of silence. Take note of worries or distractions or anything that comes to mind and imagine handing those to Christ.

  2. Read Psalm 33:1-11 with exuberance! This is a Hymn of Praise! Now sing a line or two from one of your favorite praise songs. What do you love about that song?

  3. The Psalms also give space for honest lament and complaint. Read Psalm 22:1-11. What emotions are expressed in this song?

  4. Think of a time in your own life when the feelings expressed in these words would have been true for you.

  5. Now think of people in our world who might be experiencing these feelings today. Take a moment to pray for them using the words of Psalm 22 as a guide.

  6. Psalm 30 gives thanks for God’s deliverance. Read it aloud. Share which verse resonates with you and share an example from your life when you experienced God’s deliverance.

  7. As you come to a close, revisit Psalm 30:1-3. Is there an area of your life now where you are in the depths and need help? Ask for help. Is there someone that you know is in need of help? Use these words to pray for them.
