Good morning! Happy Election Day! I am praying our teaching Scripture for tonight over each of you:
"Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way." Colossians 3:15-17 (MSG)
As you vote, may the peace of Christ keep you in tune with others; may you experience thankfulness for the privilege of voting. As you parent, may the word of Christ run your house as you instruct and care for your teen. As you live, in everything, word and action, may it be done in the name of Jesus.
We will be doing a mini mock election tonight at youth group! It will be an illustration and ties into the message! This will be done as a demonstration of unity, not division, and we will use it to talk about ways to be the body of Christ!
Here are some important announcements! It is a little lengthy today, but please read through all of them!
First, an important note: Fast to Serve has been canceled! I apologize for the confusion; however, we believe it is best not to hold the event this year. Thank you for understanding!

November 3- Colossians 3:15-3:17- Live in community
November 10- Colossians 4:2-4:6- Witness and Pray
November 17- Movie night and Fellowship
November 24- Prayer night
December 1- Exodus 15: Healing from the past
December 8- Christmas story re-told
December 15- Ignite Christmas Party
Third, we will kick off 2027 with a series on relationships. I asked the teens what they would want to hear about at youth group, and that was the overwhelming response! We will talk about friendships, dating, and sex in this series. I will send an email with more information as we get closer!
Fourth, the district is offering an opportunity to go to Festival this year. Festival is a "mini-camp" experience with people from our entire field, stretching to Maine! Festival runs from March 11th (in the evening) to the 14th, so students will need to miss a day (and maybe a half) of school. It is open to students in grades 8-12. The registration will be capped at 275 participants staying on the campgrounds, and additional adults staying in hotel rooms close by. There are 42 designated student spots for our MAD District, and the cost is $220 until December 31st. We will not be attending as a youth group, but I wanted to make you aware of this opportunity so that, if your teen would like to grab one of those 42 spots, they can register below. They could also potentially travel with other churches, or you would be responsible for getting them there!
