❄️Snowy Sunday (Jan 25) Update❄️

Dear family of God,

Due to the impending winter storm, we will not have in-person worship on Sunday, January 25. We will miss being together! But let’s receive this storm as an invitation to slow down, connect with God and loved ones, and care for our neighbors.

I did put together a brief encouragement video with a few announcements available on YouTube or Facebook. The news and links I reference are below.

The Encouragement

✝️Embrace Unity by standing against hate

In light of Martin Luther King Jr Day, I share an audio recording of this quote (from Loving Your Enemies): “hate distorts the personality of the hater. We usually think of what hate does for the individual hated or the individuals hated or the groups hated. But it is even more tragic, it is even more ruinous and injurious to the individual who hates. You just begin hating somebody, and you will begin to do irrational things. You can’t see straight when you hate. You can’t walk straight when you hate. You can’t stand upright. Your vision is distorted.”

💵❄️Embrace Unity by being generous and supporting LifePath’s work with providing shelter from the cold

Give through our giving app at stillnaz.churchcenter.com/giving.

📖Read Matthew 4:12-23: Follow Jesus, Become Fishers of People

As you read this text today and through the week reflect on these questions:

  1. What images of unity are here?

  2. Is there anything I need to leave behind as I follow Jesus?

  3. Am I someone who is gathering people or who is scattering people with my attitudes and behaviors?

🕯️Meditate on Psalm 27:1

As you go through this week, remember the promise and truth from Psalm 27:1 that “The Lord is my light and salvation // whom shall I fear?”

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Josh

🐕PS, my dog Simba shows up in the video. It ends with him woofing at my daughters returning home from school.
