Believe // Keystone Event, Easter @ Stillnaz, Young Adult Conference

Dearly beloved,

For the season of Lent, the days between Ash Wednesday and Easter, we are considering the role of humility in our pursuit of unity. It takes humility to embrace unity. Interestingly enough, in the English language, the letter U is before the letter I in both of those words. UB4I (You before I) is the invitation to put God and others first in our lives as we pursue our Savior and Unifier, Jesus Christ.

So, on Sunday, March 1, the focus of our scriptures and message was on belief and trust. To believe is an act of humility, an act of submission, an act of trust. I encourage to be encouraged again through the message (Stillmeadow Lane message here and City Campus message here), but more importantly to revel in and contemplate and believe the truth of John 3:14-17.

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Join me in Unified Prayer for York

As you know, we are praying for unity every day this year. The days between Ash Wednesday (February 18) and Easter (April 5) are a special time of Christian unity in York County, as we join with 29 other congregations in focused prayer for York. Follow the prayer guide available online and at our welcome desks. Integrate the prayers into your morning and mealtime prayers. Let’s watch what God does.

Gratefully Yours,

Josh
