On Mission // VBS, Day2Pray, Rise Against Hunger
Dear Family of God,
The last two weeks we’ve meditated on the stories of Matthew and Abraham, two men that God called from their ordinary life into a life of a blessing with him. The question we’re wrestling with is this: “What do you need to leave behind in order to center your life on the mission of Jesus?”Matthew had to leave behind a self-serving life. Abram had to leave behind the familiar. Both left and lives of abundance. Abram was promised that his family would become a blessing to the nations…and the one who said, “Follow me” to Matthew was the promised blessing! Both Abram and Matthew impacted future generations with their departure from self-service and the familiar. Who will be impacted by your decision to center your life on the mission of Jesus?
I encourage you to dig into the Living Word Devotionals and see more scripture about building your life on God’s mission. Find the readings here.
I’m grateful for you, praying for you and cheering for you as you allow Jesus to prepare you for what’s ahead and as you look to him through it all.
Pastor Josh
