Truth in Love // Fall Disciple Groups, Family Fall Fest
Hey Spiritual Siblings,
People are complicated, aren’t we? What makes me “me” and you “you” is a series of events and decisions. There is more to each of us than what we see on the outside. And because people are complicated, so are relationships. When Jesus became human, the Son of God entered our complicated mess to not only offer eternal redemption, but to show the way to navigate these complications with love and truth, mercy and grace.
Jesus is the most brilliant human to ever live, and his advice on living is equally brilliant. So, in our current mini-series, “People Are Complicated” we’re taking a look at his relational advice for disciples. On Sunday, we looked at his instructions on addressing conflict. If you missed it, check out the message at York City Campus or the message at Stillmeadow Lane Campus. Next Sunday, September 13, we’ll look at his instructions on forgiveness, and on September 20 we’ll look at his guidance on grace.
Whatever complications you are facing in yourself or in your relationships, be encouraged by this truth: Jesus’ grace and forgiveness, truth and love are greater and stronger. He not only has what you need to navigate these, but he is who you need to navigate them with. Thank God we don’t have to face these things alone.
Speaking of not facing things alone, God has given us each other to grow together. If you are not in a small group, make time for one of the small groups that we have or to start one of your own so that you can experience the beauty of growing in Christ with others. You were not made to do this alone. See the options below. If none of those work for you, get a friend or two and then choose a plan from Nazarene Discipleship Place or a series from RightNow Media.
I’m grateful for, cheering for and praying for you!
Grace and Peace,
Josh
