Whose Stuff? // Church Board Nominations, Day2Pray, Family Fall Fest

Dear Stillmeadow family,

What do you do with what you have been given? Jesus’ interaction with the religious leaders in Matthew 22 gives us one of the most iconic lines: “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s.” This line is a challenge for us all to consider our engagement with earthly kingdom and God’s eternal kingdom. But more than that it is a profound statement about humanity. We are the one’s made in God’s image! If coins have kings imprinted on them, we have God’s image imprinted on us. We represent the King of the Universe!

So, if we represent the King of the universe, that means that everything we do and say and spend is to put him on display for others. God is rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4), so we are being shaped to be rich in mercy in what we do. This is why we serve and this is why we tithe (give 10%) and give offerings! As God freely gives, we represent our Maker as we freely give! Check out Pastor John’s message (insert link here) from the Stillmeadow Lane Service for a cool illustration of giving to God what is God’s.

Please pray for the Guatemala Team

We will be serving in Guatemala until next Saturday, October 24. Pray for open doors for the gospel as we serve others according to God’s rich mercy!

I’m grateful for, cheering for and praying for you!

Grace and Peace,

Josh
