Correction: Here is this weeks email 11.02.26
Dear Stillmeadow family,
The warnings Jesus gave to the religious and political leaders in Matthew 23 were stark reminders of the impact of misusing or abusing the influence one has been given. Through it all, Jesus wanted the leaders then (and us now) to humble themselves so that God could exalt them. So, here are three ways to humble yourself this week.
Let him rescue you. Do you have a habit or pattern in life that is destroying you or those you love? Do you find yourself drowning in despair? Do you find yourself bored? Let Jesus be the one to help. Ask him for help. Tell him that you can’t figure this out. Repent. Ask for forgiveness. He is ready. He WANTS to forgive. He WANTS to help.
Sit at his feet to learn from him. If you already do daily devotions, adjust your posture and imagine Jesus with you as your teacher. Take a couple minutes to quietly sit with him before or after reading the scripture for the morning. If you don’t already do daily devotions, grab one of the devotionals on your way out or find one on your Bible app.
You are already being instructed by the world around you. If you regularly consume news or social media, you are making time to take in other voices. Make Jesus’ voice the first and primary voice in your life.
Serve with him. True greatness is found in serving others. Don’t wait til tomorrow. Start today. Start in this room. Start in the car on your way home. Start in your house today if you are watching from home. Find something that will help someone and do it. And keep it up. And don’t post about it on social media. Be quiet about it. Let the service itself be the reward. Let the obedience itself be an encouragement to you.
Thanks to all who served at the Family Fall Fest!
From Pastors Jade and Chastity Frederick, who coordinated the event: a huge thank you for preparing for, setting up, volunteering at, and cleaning up the Family Fall Fest!! It is such a gift to see people of all ages and from so many different spaces together, enjoying life as families do. These events are simply not possible without an incredible team, and YOU are they!
I’m grateful for, cheering for and praying for you!
Grace and Peace,
Josh

Baptisms: November 15
Have you given your life to Jesus? Baptism is the next step of faith, expressing before others what you have expressed to God in prayer. Baptism is an outward sign of something that God does within you (cleanses, purifies, transforms). It is an opportunity to share your commitment to Jesus with the church! Our next baptism is November 15. Our baptism class is November 8. Sign up and get more details at stillnaz.com/baptism.
Family Advent Experience: November 22

There are no small groups or children’s ministries that morning as we will all join together at 10AM in the Family Life Center.
