Call to Worship: Psalm 138

Reflection Questions:

  1. Begin by praising God with Psalm 138.

  2. Before reflecting on the early church, share what you think is the purpose of the church.

  3. Read Acts 4:23-30. What can we learn from the prayer of those early believers?

  4. What are the threats against the church today?

  5. What were the basic actions and behaviors of believers in Acts 4:32-36?

  6. If you’re in a group, break into groups of 2-3 for the next two questions. First, compare your daily prayers to this prayer of the believers. What aspect of their prayers do you want to add to yours?

  7. Now, consider the pattern of life in 4:32-36. What is one thing you can do to adjust your life to look more like the life of the early believers?

  8. Close in prayer. Use Acts 4:24-30 as your starting point, but contextualize it to our time and your circumstances. .
