Reflection Questions
Reflection Questions:
Marvel at God through reading Psalm 8.
Read the intro to the letter to the Hebrews 1:1-4. What is your favorite part of the description of Jesus there? Why?
Read Hebrews 11:39-12:3. What are some beliefs that hinder people from running the race God has for us? What are some of the sins that easily entangle new believers?
Why does fixing our attention on Jesus change everything? How can we keep our attention on him throughout the day?
Read Hebrews 12:22-28. What is God drawing your attention to in this part of the letter?
As you close, if you’re in a group, break into groups of 2-3 for the final questions. If God were to do a “faith audit” of your life, where would he find you putting more faith in something or someone other than Jesus? To put it another way: what is it that you have the most difficulty trusting God with? In a very real sense, that thing/area/person is superior in your mind and heart than Jesus. There is freedom and peace to be found as you surrender that to him.
Close in prayer by surrendering that thing you named in the previous question. Receive Hebrews 13:20-21 as a blessing. If you’re in a group, read it to each other.
