Call to Worship: Psalm 111
Reflection Questions:
Begin by praising God with Psalm 111. Pause in silence as you consider his majestic deeds.
Before reading about the Easter story, share why Jesus’ resurrection is a big deal to you personally.
Read John 20:1-20 and answer these questions:
What does this tell us about God?
What does this tell us about humanity?
What does this tell us about the good news?
Now read 1 Corinthians 15:17-25 and answer the same questions.
The Gospel of John is unique in pointing out that Jesus’ tomb was in a garden, implying that God is offering the world a new beginning, a new Eden. Where in your life do you need a new beginning? Take a moment to ask God to bring his resurrection power.
Who in your life needs the message of resurrection today? Take a moment to pray for them.
As you close, prayerfully consider these two ways to respond: 1) Put your trust in the resurrection power of Jesus in regards to a situation that you feel hopeless about, 2) Be like Mary and go to others with the good news.
