Prayer Night, Rise Against Hunger, Back to School Sunday
Dear Stillmeadow Family,
We have 9 kids and 4 adults packing up and going to kids camp today. Let’s pray for God to bless this week for them, drawing them closer to himself and each other.
As we enter this new week, I encourage you to continue to contemplate the questions from the conclusion of Sunday’s message.
What is God drawing your heart’s attention to in the story of Esther and the story of his Son’s death on the cross?
Is there a circumstance in your own life where you can look back and see God’s redemptive work only after the story?
What is a difficulty (past or present) you face that God is inviting you to surrender?
My prayer for you this week: God, as Esther showed courage and faith, grant your people the attitude she displayed in her statement, ‘if I perish, I perish.’ Jesus, you had the same attitude as you went to the cross, transforming what was intended for your destruction into the place of redemption for all humanity. Spirit, open our eyes and lead our lives to the needs of those around us.
If you aren’t able to make it to the prayer night on Tuesday (details below), please put a reminder to pray at 7PM that night. If you don’t know what to pray, use the prayer above or ask God for direction in how to pray.
Grateful for, praying for and cheering for you,
Josh
PS Here’s a quick reminder on how to help with the Texas floods. Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM) is actively supporting partner organizations that are responding to the crisis and have already provided Crisis Care Kits and chaplaincy support. You can build a Crisis Care Kit with these instructions for the next disaster. At this time, a designated giving link specific to Texas has not been created. However, donations can be made to the NCM Emergency Relief Fund. Should a broader response be required, funds from this account will be used to support those efforts.
