BACK TO SCHOOL BASH TONIGHT!
Stillmeadow Families,
Good morning! Tonight is Ignite!! Please remember that this is the Back to School Bash so students will be getting wet, please have them dress appropriately and bring towels if you would like! Also, we are having Sprit nights as part of our Olympic Game competitions and tonight the Spirit night is to wear your favorite sports team clothes! When they are having their "bash," parents will be meeting in the worship center! We will be discussing conflict with teenagers! Please be sure to come!
This Sunday, during Insight, students will continue their journey through a teen church membership study. They will have the option at the end of the five weeks to seek church membership; however, that is not required. This is a milestone course which will help them understand that it means to be part of a church and the doctrines that we believe which I believe are important for them to begin to understand! This will be taught by Holly Strait. If you have any questions, please let me know!
We have a lot of announcements so please read over all of them!
Tonight is our Back to School Bash and parent meeting at Ignite!

Fall Retreat Update 8.7.24
It all begins with an idea.
Hi families!
We are so excited for this year's fall retreat, Inside Out, with Pastor Bryan Todd! It will be at Camp Penn again and A Day Awaits will be joining us September 20-22!
I did want to communicate with you that the cost of fall retreat this year is 100$. In previous years, it was 50$. Patsy and I sat down and totaled up past events and this year's expenses. With the increase in cost, sadly the cost of the event has increased.
However, please do not let this deter your teen from coming! If this increase is out of your budget for the year, we have scholarship funds available to pay the 50$ increase or to help with the total cost so please reach out!
Some of you have already registered, which is awesome! Thank you! The sign-up site was correct at the top of the form where it said 100$ but the drop down only asked for 50$. If you already registered and paid, could you please email Patsy at pmoses@stillnaz.com, and let her know how you would like to pay the other 50$. Keep in mind assistance is available with the other 50$. We apologize for this inconvenience!
Here is the link for sign-up! The firm registration deadline is August 20th due to t-shirts and bus rentals and other details!
https://stillnaz.shelbynextchms.com/external/form/30612e4e-c16e-4b12-9f85-7586592b88d7
We are praying and looking forward to this being a time of connection and transformation! We are expecting Jesus! Can you pray for us?
If you have any questions at all, please reach out!
In His hope!

Stillmeadow Families,
Good afternoon! Tomorrow night is Ignite! Tomorrow is the first Tuesday of the month which is our "What is Going on in the World?" night! Stillnaz Youth Update 7/15/24
It all begins with an idea.
Stillmeadow Families,
This past week was really meaningful! I saw God at work in the lives of our teens and those around us as we went to SAGE and hosted the chicken BBQ! Also, our teen band led worship this past Sunday! I would like to say thank you to Mike and Kate for making that happen! Tomorrow is Ignite and we will be having our prayer walk! It is to be very hot so there is a possibility that our prayer walk will turn into a prayer drive with your child's d-group leader! If you are not okay with this, please let me know and we will have an adult stay back at the church with those who are not allowed to go in the car! There is also the possibility, depending on the weather, that we will walk so please send a hat and water! If you do not want your child to walk, please contact me!
Reminder, this Sunday is Rise Against Hunger. Your family is invited to stay after the second service to help this cause! Due to Rise Against Hunger, Insight is cancelled!
Mark your calendars, we have the opportunity to help York Helping Hands and hand out meals to the homeless on August 10th from 11:00am-2:00pm. There will be a registration link as it gets closer but in the meantime, we are going to collect items they may need:
socks
umbrellas
Toiletries- deodorant, shampoo soap
Clothing (used men and women)
Shoes (used men and women)
If you have any of these items, please start bringing them in on Tuesday nights!
Finally, there is a new app called "Band." We are asking all youth to download the app and search for Stillnaz Youth and request to join!
Next week is teen camp and I am going as camp counselor! In my absence, if you have any Youth ministry questions, feel free to reach out to Patsy Moses @ pmoses@stillnaz.com.
I won't be sending a weekly email out but Ignite will continue at its regular time and place under the leadership of Natalie! An email will be sent Wednesday to those of you attending teen camp with all the details!

Stillnaz Youth Update 7/01/24
It all begins with an idea.
Stillmeadow Families,
Happy Monday! We just finished mission week! Praise be to God for such an impactful and transformational experience. We were all a different group from where we started last Monday. I am so thankful to God for His work. We heard testimonies from teens who felt changed in their perspective, gratitude, negative attitudes, patience, unity, compassion, and much more. They heard the Spirit speaking and encouraging. We had a powerful night of worship Tuesday night where we started our new sermon series outside the box and talked about three things:
What does it mean to live outside the box for Jesus?
How do we keep Jesus in a box?
What keeps us slave to our boxes?
We all left something in the box Tuesday (literally) that was keeping us slave so we can live outside the box for Jesus.
Our theme verse for the week was Galatians 5:13-15, “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love."
I will be on vacation this week! And this is our first Ignite in Flight!! Ignite will meet at Cousler Park at the pavilion near the basketball courts! Natalie, our NYI president, will be there to lead. There will be a small time of worship, devotional and sharing then there will be games to play through Cousler! If you have any questions, please reach out to Patsy Moses at pmoses@stillnaz.com
Save the date for 7/13 where teens can come and serve in the Chicken BBQ fundraiser and earn money for their teen accounts!
Pre-orders are encouraged and can be ordered through the following link: www.stillnaz.com/sny by end of day Thursday, 7/11. We will also take orders at the Welcome Table on Sunday, 6/30 and 7/7.

Stillnaz Youth Update 6/24/24
It all begins with an idea.
Stillmeadow Families,
Happy Monday! Today is kick-off to mission week! Our theme verse for the week comes from Galatians 5:13-15, “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.”
I have been praying this time of service would allow each teen to have awareness of the work of God in their lives, other's lives and the world. I am also praying, like Paul reminds us in Galatians, that they will see true freedom is living a life of love. We will be talking about this at Ignite this week also! Even though it is mission week we will still be meeting for Ignite!
There will be no Insight on Sunday morning (6/30) at 10:30am but instead we are inviting all teens into the services for a time of testimony from our teens and our mission week slideshow!
Save the date for 7/13 where teens can come and serve in the Chicken BBQ fundraiser and earn money for their teen accounts!
This week we have slight shifts to our d-groups as we acclimate to our new 6th graders!
Finally, there is a new app called "Band." We are asking all youth to download the app and search for Stillnaz Youth and request to join!

Stillnaz Youth Update 6/17/24
It all begins with an idea.
Stillmeadow Families,
Happy Monday! In our summer journal, Footsteps of the Faith, this morning the reading was from Genesis 3 where we see the fall of humanity as they choose sin over the will of God. We see the lure and rationalization of sin. We see the shame sin causes as they cover themselves afraid of their nakedness and vulnerability. We see the pattern of hiding, blame, and lack of responsibility. But then we see a God who goes to them and says, "Where are you?" My prayer this week as we meet and parent our teens that we will go to them in their struggle and shame and say, "Where are you?" Encourage your teen to participate in the devotionals each week!
Tomorrow night is our prayer walking night! The teens are participating but we are inviting the entire church so come and walk with us! Here is a schedule...
7:00 all adults and family members meet in the cafe; teens will meet in the worship space
7:10 we will all meet together for a kick-off and explanation
7:30-8:30 walk and pray the neighborhoods surrounding Stillmeadow in groups of 4-5 people
Teens will be back by 8:35 and will be on the front lawn for free time until parents arrive
Next week is mission week where 30 of our teens and workers will be serving our local community with Servants. Please be in prayer for that we would live into our calling of freedom and "not use our freedom to indulge the flesh but rather serve one another humbly in love."

Stillnaz Youth Update 6/10/24
It all begins with an idea.
Stillmeadow Families,
Happy Monday! Thank you all for a great parent night! It was so great to see so many of you. The time was such a blessing and encouragement to me! We also had a wonderful time at Dorney Park where 32 teens and 8 adults braved the rides and water slides! I am so grateful for community and connection. Please use every event as an opportunity for invitation! We are preparing for Mission Week and details for those who are registered will come out shortly! This week, I am praying as we all juggle the schedules of summer that we will walk in pace with the Spirit and be present in the moment before us, experiencing His peace. Praying for you!
Tomorrow night is VBS!!! This means when you drop off your teen, the parking lot will be full of VBS activities. Please, drop your teen off at the Sprinkle House and pick them up from the Sprinkle House! We will have games and activities and a devotional around the fire! The devotional will reflect on how social media has changed the way we talk to each other and how we talk to each other about the things we disagree on. This is part of our "What's Going on in the World?" segment that we will have once a month. We will explore issues the teens and the world are facing and talk about them openly, in light of Scripture. If you have any topic suggestions, feel free to email them and talk to your teen about social media this week!
Our summer journals, Footsteps of the Faith, started today! Be sure to encourage your teen to participate in the devotionals and prayer walking as well. We will be talking about it on Tuesday nights also! Next Tuesday night, June 18th is our all-church prayer walk! The teens will be participating! Come out and walk with us!

It all begins with an idea.
Stillmeadow Families,
Happy Tuesday! The sex series is complete! Tonight, we will be talking about our theme verse from this past Excursion weekend, Isaiah 43:18-19, "“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” We will summarize our idea of being able to renew and live into the new creation God has made you by leaving the past behind and recognizing what keeps us from perceiving the work God is doing in our lives. Teens from Excursion are going to share their stories of what God was saying to them throughout the weekend. He is so so good and is doing a new thing among us!
This Sunday is Grad Sunday! After both services, swing by the MPR to support our youth group graduates. You can leave them a card and/or stop to say congratulations! Our graduates from our youth group are...
Trey Kunkle
Tristan Mingus
Austin Stern
Andrew Kidwell

Stillnaz Youth Update 5/6/24
It all begins with an idea.
Stillmeadow Families,
Happy Monday! Praying for each of you as you disciple your teen. When Brian Hull was with us for Renew Weekend, we had the privilege to meet with him as a youth team. There was so much valuable information about the youth of today, but something resonated with me in terms of our work as families as well as a faith community. Teens desire a space to work out their faith. They want to be able to ask the hard questions and journey through their faith, while not always having the "right" answer. Fuller Youth Institute research shows that only 7-8% of young people have heard their father articulate their faith story and 30% have heard their mother share her faith story. They have not learned how to talk about their faith and have a lot of questions about how to do that. He also shared how teens desire to be asked questions that are just not superficial, for example:
How was your day but instead what is God saying to you lately?
Where have you seen God working around you this week?
What have you found yourself praying about lately?
What questions do you have about God, faith or church?
I am praying that we can partner to create spaces in our homes and our church for teens to wrestle through the hard questions, share what is going on in their lives, share their faith stories and for us to share our faith stories with them.

This Tuesday we will have our final sermon in our sex series on dating and next week we will wrap up the series with an interactive panel where the teens can ask questions about sex, dating and relationships. If you have any questions, please let me know! Here are the discussion questions:
What do you find the most annoying about the high school dating scene (no names)?
Do you think it’s okay to date someone you know you aren’t going to marry?
What are the main qualities you are looking for in a guy/girl that you would like to date?
What questions do you have about dating as a Christian?
How do you think you could better prioritize honoring and respecting others in all your relationships? What about specifically in dating relationships?
Do any of you currently have boundaries that you have or plan to have in place when you are in a dating relationship?
How hard or easy do you think it is to be in a dating relationship and continue pursuing your relationship with Christ wholeheartedly? Explain.
As you think about this series, what is your biggest takeaway?
How can we help each other wholeheartedly pursue Christ, love selflessly, and handle sex God’s way?
Please always feel free to reach out!
