Open Invitation // Fall Discipleship Groups, Welcome Bash
Good morning Stillmeadow Saints,
Yesterday we prayed for all those heading back to school, for the children and youth, the teachers and administration and the parents too. Let’s pray that our young ones and those who are among us serving the students and the parents sending their kids to school live this year “in view of God’s mercy.” Let’s ask God to fill their vision with his grace and bless their days with his peace.
As we continue our sermon series, let’s put to heart the theme verse: Romans 12:1-2.
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Yesterday’s message was about God’s Open Invitation to All (check out Stillmeadow Lane or York City Campus). Anybody can call on Jesus and declare that “Jesus is Lord!” Anybody can experience the shame-eliminating, fear-reducing, life-saving gospel available in Jesus, no matter their biology, culture or religion! All it takes is to accept “Jesus as Lord.” Which invites us to consider the following questions:
Is he “the boss” of my life? Is Jesus the one that helps me determine how I spend my money? Is he the guide for my approach to sex? Is he Lord over my media intake? Is he the leader of how I serve those in my home, workplace, school or neighborhood?
A Spiritual Growth Plan is a way to intentionally organize your life under the Lordship of Jesus. I encourage you to use what we have offered here (but please avoid making it more important than your relationship with Jesus).
I’m grateful for, cheering for and praying for you!
Grace and Peace,
Josh
PS…I again encourage you to dig into the Living Word Devotionals and learn from Jesus through scripture. Find the readings here.
